43% of users fell victim to hacks or identity fraud during 2025 and the first months of 2026, according to the 2026 Survey conducted by CertiSur together with D'Alessio IROL. The study consolidated responses from 500 adults and found that identity theft or phishing was the most frequently reported method.
The survey was conducted in a context where the main citizen concerns were divided between uncertainty about the situation (65%) and insecurity or crime (61%). In parallel, the demographic records of the study estimated that Internet penetration reaches 41.2 million users, equivalent to 90% of the population.
In this connectivity ecosystem, 43% of individuals generated or received an online contract during the last period, which represented an increase of 15 percentage points compared to 2025 indicators. However, 80% of surveyed persons stated they do not have technical procedures to detect alterations in the authenticity of digital documents. Additionally, 76% declared they are unaware of the formal steps to file complaints regarding problems in the receipt or validation of files.
